After the success of our first Secret Warehouse event followed by the day/night NYD party, we thought it was about time we took you back to the roots of where it all started, we are delighted to have stumbled upon a perfect New York Loft space!

“THE LOFT”

The Loft was the location for the first underground dance party and was created by David Mancuso on February 14, 1970 in New York. Since then, the term loft has come to represent Mancuso’s own version of a non-commercial event, with similar vibe of a private intimate party for friends. Unlike conventional nightclubs or discotheques, attendance was by invitation only. This movement inspired such great as Larry Levan, Nick Siano, Frankie Knuckles, Francois K, Todd Terry, Masters At Work, Marshall Jefferson, DJ Sneak, and the man himself: Danny Tenaglia – famous in New York for his 10+ hour sets.

“THE MUSIC”

As Danny Tenaglia told it – “Music is the Answer” with the kick in the bass and the underlying rhythm as the foundation, vocal, thick cords, a combination of classic club groove with depth contributing a huge influence on the development of the modern dance club as it is today. So expect a blend of everything: old and new, deep, soulful and tribal – HOUSE music at it’s best!

Our second room will be hosted by our good friends at “FUNKDAFIED” who will transport you back to one of the most influential eras in modern music, starting with the ORIGINAL music that was played at the first NY Loft parties encompassing Soul, Funk, Jazz, Disco, African & Latin Rhythms and then on a journey through the NY scene from 1970-1982, all the way to early Hip Hop that was born in the Bronx in the late 70′s. This is the place to hear the music that influenced the whole Dance music scene.

“THE VENUE”

The “Secret Venue” is a fantastic 2-room venue with licensed bars in both areas. Sound & lighting will be done to the highest standard along with a high level of production to turn the space into the perfect “New York Loft”. The secret location will be released closer to the event.
